Kawasaki Kids Science Challenge 2nd Day

My kids attended at the 2nd day of the Kawasaki Kids Sceince Challenge.
My son tried to control a robot with PC. He programmed the actions of the robot, and then he sent the data to the robot. The robot acted on the data he programmed.
My daughter joined at the rest experiences she did not yesterday. She made a wax form of her finger, a kareidoscope, experienced to make a color chemically, and watched a science magic show.


In addition, a robot competition by high schools in Kawasaki was held at the same place. The cometition was "Robot Curling". One team had three robots. The robot stopped at the center of the squre as close as possible could get higher point. The robot could went away other team's robots. All robots had to stop in one minutes. It's interesting.

Kawasaki Kids Science Challenge

My son tried his first electric work with a soldering iron. He made a electric lantern. The lantern's LED light changes colors and the control of the LED colors are programmed with a PC.

My dauther tried some science experiences such as making an alchol roket, a spectro-scope, science whistle.

Okinawa Guidebook by Shinsuke

I haven't been in Okinawa. I want. I thought to go to Okinawa this year with my mileage points, but I can't go, because the flight between Tokyo and Okinawa is very popular. I can't make any reservations... And so I decided to go to Hakata.

I'm going to be in Okinawa next year.

Tokai Univ. Team Summited K2

This is a record by the leader of the Tokai University K2 Team. Asyou might know, K2 is the most difficult mountain to climb in the world. Many climbers were killed by K2.

The team succeeded to summit on K2. The two attackers were the youngest climber and the fist Japanese woman climber. I learnt many things on proceeding a large project.

There are many steps. It means hard to do this method. Nobody can achieve it. However I'd like to try one thing. It is weekend fasting. It seems very efficient for me because my stomach should take a rest a week.

The 1st edition of this book was published 30 years ago. This book tells attitudes for kids when parents praise and scold. This autor was the main teacher of Prince.
Now mass-communications focus on the education in Japan. They say the government and schools would have many problems such as methods or textbooks. However, I think our parents would have many issues to live and educate at home...

How Kids Have Good Sense

This book has the good title, but it is not worth to read because the author has only one 8 year-old girl. She really knows the way, doesn't she? I do not think so. The girl will surely have a good sense when she become a lady. How does the author know the method on the way of her child-raising?

Summer Festival @ Sumiyoshi Shrine

I went to a local summer festival at the Sumiyoshi Shrine with my kids. There were many temporary shops. My kids enjoyed snacks such as shaved ice, cotton candy, starch syrop.
However, it's rainy today. We were back to home soon.

Disney on Ice

My wife won two tickets of the Disney on Ice on the Ito-en campaign, and so I and my daughter went to the show at the Yokohama Arena in Shin-Yokohama.

It's so wonderful show. I was not bored until last.
My daughter really enjoyed the first time to see the ice dance by the Disney Princesses. She loves Ariel. So I bought the Ariel's cap to her. It seems nice for her.

Finland Method

This book does not only explain the Finland Method but also tells how to use the method on my educations for children. I've taken my education for my kids. I always ask why they think so. I was aware asking reasons for kids by the Toyota Method. In addition, I borrow several books a week from my city's library. I will continue.

Funny Antarctic Cook

This cook was a member of the Natinal Antarctic Explorerer. He has many emergency recipe. His recipe makes good cuisines from very limited stuff. I can get some easy good recipe.

Project Management

There are many books on "Project Management" but almost all books are not worth to read because they are thick and unitegrated. But this book is very thin, about 100 pages and enough integrated contents.
The publisher "FIRST PRESS" is very good.

The Stuff of Thought

It is so hard for me to read this book and get stuff of thought. However I get an importance t read difficult books in order to read other books quickly. I will try to read this book again.

New Company

I move to a new financial company from today. I can refresh everything.

Mac Kids Summer Special Event @ Shinjuku

My son and I attend at the 2nd day's session of the event at the Apple Japan in the Tokyo Opera City.
My son arranges a podcast with sounds which he gathered yesterday.It really sounds good.

This special event was listed on the apple site on September 29th.

Tamagawa Fireworks

I takes my daughter to the Tamagawa Fireworks at Futakoshinchi. My son got tired, and so he doesn't go. The fireworks are so beaytiful and the sounds are large and dynamic. I can feel the sound with my body. It is the first time for my daughter to watch fireworks closely. She excites to watch the fireworks.

Mac Kids Summer Special Event @ Nanasawa Shinrin Park

My son and I attend at the Mac Kids Summer Event in the Nanasawa Shinrin Park by Apple. I submitted to this event 1 month ago. Kids gather some sounds in the park such as bird songs, stream sounds and singing of insects in the morning.
We enjoy BBQ for lunch. Kids also gather our BBQ sound.

After our launch, kids learn glass whistles and gather the sounds, too.

We will arrange the gathered sounds into podcasts in the Apple studio in Shinjuku.

My family spend a great time for our family camp at Tsunan. We enjoyed outdoor cooking, field athletics, swiming pool, guided night hiking and hot spa. My family also visited at a sunflower farm at Tsunan and the Kiyutsu Ravine.
I could tell my kids building a tent and a fire, and clean them up.

Every large system is developped with many achivements and death marches, but the large system is not beautiful! :)

Cool Guy's Appearance

Cool guys have good appearance, and good appearance lets guys become more cool. Japamese middle age has not taken care of their appearance. They felt shame to groom themselves. I really agree with this book. Cool guys must not have any weak points.

Apple & Google

I did not look forward to this book because I had read some books in reference to Google and Apple. They were not worth to read but this book is interesing. This book is true. However you wiould not get anything for your business. This book only explains the situations of the two company and compares Apple with Google.

Common Sense As Parernt

There are many family issues in Japan as sama as USA or Europe. However, the most important responsibirities are always had by parents. of course, a few teachers have some problems. Some parents can't make children grow up ordinarily. The parents are not only teenagers, but also twenties or thirties.. It's teribble.

Shools do not teach to make a family. It should be taught by parents. It means current fifties or sixties did not make a good family and society.

Planning for Family Camp

I finished the plan of the family camp. My family will do camping, cooking, cycling, field athletics, fishing and a guided night hike.

I pray the weather would be great...

I bought this guide book for camping. This book is very handy, but it has enough tips for our family camp.

Dictionary of Outdoor Cooking

I'm planing menus on my family's camp next week. I found a very good book for cooking outdoor. This is it. This book tells me about 200 recipes from dinner dishes to sweet deserts, but I don't have any dutch ovens. I won't be able to cook any recipes...

But, I will cook:
- Clear Soup of Apple and Pork

- Fried Potatochip & Bacon

- BBQ & Green Beans Soup

- Paella

Now I'm still thinking...
I decide our menu on the August 3rd.

Good Listener

This author is a famous business comic writer. I read the comic 10 years ago. He draws the comic. I don not read the comic any more. I read this book. The writer worked for Panasonic for a few years 40 years ago. He draws people who he've seen on his business. I am impressed his viewing people.
And so, he reccommends to be a good listner. Persons who achieved great things are definetly a good listner. The good listener pays careful attention to others very well.
First, I listen what others say, and then I ask the reasons, and I ask the background, and finally I ask other opinions and suggestions.
