I'd like to choose the essay "
Hojoki " as the first book in 2009, which was written by Chomei Kamono in 1212 in Japan, because the prologue seems fit this era.
Prologue
Flow of a river is seamless, but it's not the same water in the flow. A foam on the backwater is made, and other foam is disappeared. There are no foams which keep long. Humans and their houses are similar with the foams.
In the capital, houses of both the high-class and the middle & low classes would compete for the heights against each other. few houses of them have been there for a long time when I research. A house was built last year because the previous house had been barned out. Other large house in the past became so small.
The inhabitants of those houses are same. There are many people who live in a place. I can only see a few people who have lived in the same place for a long time. A person passed away in the morning, and other person is born in the evening. It's similar with foams or houses.
I'm not sure where the people who was born come from, and where the people who pass way have gone. I can't understand why and for whom people build their own great houses though the houses are temporarily. The houses and owners that will be vanished would be similar with dews on a bosh flower because a dew is dropped from the flower and the bosh flower also wilt in the sunshine, or other dew that keep on the bosh flower disappear in the air by the sunshine, and another dew that keeps after the bosh flower wilted, however the dew must disappear in the air until the sunset.
