The Secret

This book said I would become what you had thought. It's very simple. The book has many kinds of the same meaning phrase. You might be bored a little until you'd finish reading. However, the phrase is very important for everything in the future; my family,
jobs, money, health and myself.

A non-Japanese person became a board member of my current company though my current company is one of the most domestic Japanese companies.
The first general meeting was held last week. CEO who is a Japanese made a presentation in English. CEO declared to use English in the board member meeting from that day. Of course, the new MD did in English. Japanese companies have been changing steadly. It's interesting.

Fly Japan Jet "MRJ"

MRJ is "Mitsubishi Regional Jet". The Mitsubishi Heavy Industrial is developing this new jet. MRJ will be a middle jet for 80-100 passengers.
Honda will also launch HondaJet. HondaJet is a personal set for 4-6 passengers. HondaJet is very popular and about 100 HondaJet has been ordered.
However, MRJ will be in the severe competition. This author analysed very well.
Before WWII, the aviation industry in Japan was one of the top countries, but GHQ banned Japan to have the aviation industry. Japan developed only one plane YS-11 after WWII. YS-11 had good characters of qualities and maintenance ability, but YS-11 failed on business.
MRJ would also have some possibilities of losing on business, but Mitsubishi decided to develop MRJ because it's the last chance to develop a middle-class jet. I hope MRJ to suceed as a Japanese.

Indiana Jones - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

The new Indiana Jones is launched in Japan today. I had not seen any Indiana Jones' movies in the theater. I wanted to go to the large theater, and so I went to the "La Cinecitta" near the Kawasaki Station. This theater is very convenient beacuse I can make a reservation on the web. I could get a very good seat in the center, backside and in front of the aisle in the theater.
The movie satisfied very much. I recommend to go to theater even though you have not seen his series.
The property of Dr. Jones was put at the entrance. I wanted his hat and rash!
He was hanging from the ceiling of the exit.

Dignity of Ace Pitcher - Differences from First-Class Pitcher to Second-Class

This author "Katsuya Nomura" is one of the best baseball's head coaches in Japan. He understand characters of players who belong to his team. He also know how to extend player's abilities very well. He could let some very weak teams win for the Japan Series several times.
He told "Never Give Up, Never Satisfy if you're professional".

He wanted to be the head coach of the national team of the Beijing Olympic Games on this book. I felt his direct words added a human touch to his character.

  2. COACHING
  3. SUPPORTING
  4. DELEGATING

I recommed this and I hope to read all books of the One Minutes Manager.

A Road Was Moved Longer Than 300yds by Earthquake.

A road near the center of the latest large earthquake in Japan was moved longer than 300 yards. In addition, the top part of this photo slipped drop deeper than 100 yards. The Geographical Survey Institute as released to public yesterday. It's amazing.
I had not known the large earthquake until the midnight of the day because I was in the DisneySea. An announce before the open time was that some roller coasters had been checked because of an earthquake. I, my family and people around me did not felt.
The delays of the public transmutations in the Tohoku region were announced at 4pm in the DisneySea. I felt strange because these information would be hardly ever announced in the Disney Resort. I supposed the earthquake in the morning could be so large.

Exploring to Improve English

This author was a teacher of "Let's Speak English" on the NHK radio. I like his usual words "Let's speak English loudly. Your English will not be improved if your voice is small." I think so. I started reading one English book a week at least, and to speak English words every day.
This book has many idea how to learn foregin languages. I recommend for learners.

I bought a new sholder bag at Maruzen in Marunouchi because I has felt bad to carry my heavy business bag with a hand while I walk for about 2.5 miles every morning. It's not good for my body balance.
It will be more confortable for me to commute on foot.
I chose gray.

Why Does Your Office Break Up?

Many Companies in Japan have many mental problems. Employees do not have any teamworks. Everyone focuses on short team revenues only. Someone says this mental problems would be caused by he long resession in Japan, but I do not think so because some companies show some solutions. For example, Toyota focuses on thinking processes, comunications, sharing skills etc.
We should think of processes. It is improtant to evaluate persons who can make good processes.
The good processes can bring better revenues and efficieces to us. A foreign company I worked focused on the evaluation methods.

How to Escape from Matabolic Syndrome

"Metabolic Syndrome" is the most popular word in the middle age in Japan. The Japanese Government is posed the most severe criterion measure in the world. The abdominal circumference is only 33.5 inches for men. The global standard AC for an Asian man is 35.5 inches. In addition, the AC for women is 35.5 inches. WHY is The men's AC shorter than women's AC?

WHITE HOUSE CHEF

I was impressed this book. As you might imagine easily, Mrs. Clinton strongly minded the dishes in the White House, but Mr. Bush did not so much. Mrs. Clinton thought the dishes was one of the politic weapons, and Mr. Bush seems to think the dishes would be just foods.
The chef was satisfied with and proud of his work as a part of the world class tasks in the White House with Mr. and Mrs Clinton.

If you're intested in that scandal, I don't recommend this book because he didn't write down any politic and personal things of the Clinton.

It Embarrasses.

The top article "In Shift for Japan, Salarymen Blow the Whistle" of the NY Times embarrasses Japanese. Many scandals has been happened by Japanese companies. Where is the faith?
Japan will lose not only high-technologies but also trusts.

Dreams Are Going - Nine Japanese Minor Leaguers

About 20 Japanese are playing in the Major League Baseball, but some Japanese play in the Minor League. Some of them could play in the Major, but others could not play in the Major. This book told me the nine Japanese Minor Leaguers' stories. They knew the hard life in the Minor. It means they know the real professional baseball in the States.
I also work as a professional engineer in financial institutions. I could know the hardness to work in the States. I felt everybody had to survive. Espesially, it'd be hard to survive in NYC. I learnt English conversation at evening classes and weekend classes. Many students who came from east Europe and Asian countries leant together. They really had hungry spirits.

This book reminds me their spirits.

Why Did She Lose?

I have thought it in these days why Hilary Clinton lost. I don't have any politic opinions on domestic issues in the United States, but I feel the reasons would be important for our business and life.
When she started her presidential campaign, I thought she would won for the democratic party's race because other candidates were not more famous than Mrs. Clinton. She seemed to have too much ambitious, but she would become the first woman president. I thought she should have.
However, she had lost advantages day and day... Why?
I'm looking forward to reading some analyses.

It's Softbank Mobile.

Softbank Mobile which is the third largest mobile phone company in Japan announced to launch iPhone in Japan. I'm satisfied because NTT Docomo which is the top seller is very conservative.
It'd be unfitable for the seller of iPhone.

Business Models of Ads Against Google

Many books in reference to Google has been published, but most of them were not worth to read. However, this book seems best. The author studied the marketing business in Japan very well.
Many mass communication companies feels facing on the turning point of their business models. They try to change themselves, but They couldn't find any ways against Google and Amazon. In addition, Microsoft also seems to seek strategies against Google.
In 80's and 90's, many Japanese companies were always in the center of technology topics, but there are no Japanese companies... Why can't Japanese companies innovate new services or new business models?

Lecture: Job & Life

The average lifestyle in Japan has been changed very much for about this 10 years. The reasons would be the long recession and globalization. Many twenties and thirties could not get good jobs. On the other hands, a few percentages of people in Japan have been billionaires. The gap has widened year and year.
Many people had worked at only one company in their lives until the end of the Japan bubble economy, but some of them changed their jobs. However, many women still stop working for companies in order to get married and do housekeeping.
The population in Japan will decreased steadily. How will our lifestyles change?

Calling from Old Friends

Yesterday, an old friend called to me. He told the alumni meeting of my high school in Tokyo was being held at the moment, and he asked why I was not there. I did not know the meeting.
I talked it with other friend who is a teacher of our high school and we went to the same schools from the kindergarten to the high school that the annual alumni meeting would be held on the last Sunday of July and our synchronous would have to be the meeting organizer. I promised to corporate the organization.
I'm looking forward to seeing my old friends in this summer. I have not seeing almost all friends after our graduation because I went to Sapporo.
